I’m used to flying with low budget airlines where you have to pay extra for your luggage. My main reason: it’s cheap. I hate flights with a stopover, because I think I’d get lost at an unknown airport. For my flight from Bangkok to Amsterdam I was looking into a direct flight. Then I remembered from working at a tour operator that Emirates was quite popular under the Dutch tourists, and most important, it’s cheap! I ended up booking Emirates, but it came with a surprise. A complimentary upgrade!
It’s the last day of 2016 and it’s time for a good old year-end review! Instead of doing my standard year-end writing, I decided to use my Instagram photos for this year-end blog. I have been quite active on Instagram this year so the photos that you see there sums up my year.

Shaun’s school is closed this week as it’s Summer holiday and today he flew off to Japan to enjoy one week of relaxation and training martial arts. And me? I’m staying home alone in Seoul!
When Shaun is not here, I try to plan lots of things to do to keep myself entertained. I always wanted to walk along the Han river from our house via Jamsil, passing Yeouido, cross the river towards our house. That’s like, more than 40KM of walking and probably takes 12 hours or so lol, but it’s something I want to try. Maybe this week will be my week to try!
Like in the cartoon, I plan things but in the end I don’t do any of it because it’s more fun with the two of us. Hopefully I don’t get to lazy and fat like the NN in the cartoon 😉
If you plan on travelling to Korea or move here, one of the first shops you want to check out is Daiso. If I need something, I would go to Daiso first to check if they have what I need because you can really get everything here. So you might think: “What the heck is Daiso??“. Read further to know more about this amazing store.
I introduce you… Inside Daiso!
HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope 2016 brings you lots of joy and happiness.
2016 will be a challenging but a good year for me with lots of changes. If you have been following me on Facebook, you may know that Shaun’s contract ended since December. However due to some circumstances we have decided to stay in Seoul for another year. By staying another year in Korea means another year apart from each other which wouldn’t be good for our relationship.
Long story short, I will be moving back to the Land of the Morning Calm!
It’s almost the end of the year and if your new year’s resolution is to travel more, I have something for you that might help your travel adventure. A giveaway! On behalf of GPSmyCity, we will be giving 20 lucky readers FREE promotional codes for a GPS Self-Guided walk app in the city of their choice!
