We live in Seoul for more than four years now and the only place we have been together outside Seoul is Busan. During this Christmas holiday we thought of going to Busan again, because I like it, but we decided last minute to stay closeby Seoul and make a day trip out of it. The first city that came up in my mind is the Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon. It was high on my list and it was time to finally spend a day in the capital of the province Gyeonggi-do.
One Summer day we walked pass Grevin Seoul museum and promised each other that we will visit this museum someday soon. Summer passed and we’re now almost hitting Winter. We totally forgot about Grevin until I saw a contest online where you can win tickets to the museum. And I won two tickets for this famous wax museum from Paris for the Halloween Zombie Night tour! In the spirit of Halloween, we went dressed to the museum (and because we were hitting Itaewon afterwards…) and scared the staff who supposed to scare visitors 🙂
For my trip to Fukuoka I needed to sleep somewhere close to Incheon airport as my flight departs early in the morning. The first bus/subway from where I live (the other side of Seoul) would still not work out, so I searched the internet for the cheapest, but unique, option. Luckily I found Air Buddy Guesthouse!
When we visited Incheon (see previous post) we made sure to drop by the jjajangmyeon museum, because we were told that this famous black bean noodle dish is popular in Incheon. Don’t expect to spend the whole day here, maybe an hour or so, but make sure to drop by when you’re in Chinatown!
Last weekend a new vegan restaurant has opened in Itaewon. Through Facebook I got notified about this new place and going through the positive comments, it sounded promising! Even though I am not vegan, I love trying new things and since I have never eaten a vegan burger before, I really wanted to give it a try. Let us introduce to you: Huggers!
We have lived in Seoul for a few years now and yet we have not really been anywhere outside of Seoul. Maybe a weekend trip to Busan to do a visa run but that’s really it. Our goal is to travel outside of the city at least once a month as a day trip or weekend getaway. We have heard that the official and biggest Chinatown is in Incheon. We both have never been in Incheon city and we talked a lot about going to Chinatown. Full of high expectations we decided to go on a spontaneous trip, with our bags packed in case we want to stay overnight.
